The National Assembly (NA) has endorsed nine recommendations aimed at preventing crime as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public safety and security across the country.
The recommendations, prepared by the parliamentary committee on crime prevention, were presented and subsequently endorsed during a session of the Assembly. They form a key component of the national crime prevention strategy, which focuses on proactive measures to reduce criminal activity rather than responding only after offences occur.
Among the measures highlighted in relation to the endorsed recommendations, the government has already installed 896 CCTV cameras nationwide to support surveillance, enhance monitoring in public areas, and aid law enforcement in crime detection and deterrence.
The endorsement by the NA reflects the legislature’s commitment to creating safer communities through the use of technology, improved coordination among security agencies, and early intervention efforts.
