A discussion meeting titled “The Great Woman Mother Teresa for the Welfare of Humanity”, the presentation of the Mother Teresa Golden Award–2026, and a winter clothing distribution program for the underprivileged were held in remembrance of the life and work of Mother Teresa, the legendary woman devoted to the service of humanity.
The event took place on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at the Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) Auditorium in Paltan Tower, Dhaka, organized by the Mother Teresa Research Welfare Council.
The chief guest of the program was Justice Mir Hasmat Ali, Honorable Justice of the Bangladesh Supreme Court and a valiant Freedom Fighter. In his speech, he said that Mother Teresa’s philosophy of life stands as a unique example for humanity. Her ideals of sacrifice, love, and service are especially relevant in today’s society.
The keynote speaker was Professor Mohammad Ahsan Ullah, Honorable Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer of IBAIS University. He stated that Mother Teresa was not only a humanitarian worker but a true symbol of humanity. Following her ideals and standing beside the helpless and underprivileged would be the true way to pay tribute to her.
Special guests included Golam Faruk Majnu, Executive Director of the Asian Business Partnership Summit, Major (Retd.) Ajoy Prakash Chakma, and Advocate Md. Monir Hossain. They emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering humanitarian values in society.
The program was presided over by Advocate Chowdhury Ataur Rahman, Adviser to the Mother Teresa Research Welfare Council. The welcome address was delivered by M. H. Arman Chowdhury, Secretary General of the organization, while R. K. Ripon, Vice Chairman of the Council, presented the inaugural remarks.
At the concluding session, the Mother Teresa Golden Award–2026 was presented to distinguished individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the welfare of humanity, followed by the distribution of winter clothing among the underprivileged.
